Rick Riordan's "The Serpent's Shadow" wraps up the Kane Chronicles series. All of Sadie's and Carter's preparations led up to their final battle with Apophis. I was shocked by many things that happened in this book, and even at the end, there are still a few mysteries left unsolved. Like "The Throne of Fire", there are many adventures, but the difference is that the adventures are more important and for me, more fun to read.
The siblings must deal with the loss of Bes and the previous chief lector, Desjardins. They are forced to work with a criminal to defeat Apophis and save the world. You get to see more of Walt and Sadie's relationship, as well as Carter and Zia's.
When I finished this book, I wished that there was a follow-up, but I'm like that with all good series. "The Serpent's Shadow" is a great conclusion to this wonderful series. One of the things I like about Rick Riordan is how good his series' conclusions are.
I rate this book 9.5/10
