George Orwell's "1984" is a book that takes place in a scary dystopian society. This book causes one to look into/be more skeptical of governments and the world in general. The book may seem slow in the beginning, and I admit, it is. This makes it a bit hard to read at some points, however, it picks up, and once it picks up, it doesn't slow down.

"1984" shows us a possible future that we would want to avoid. This book is very realistic and gets dark during a lot of parts. There are a few big surprises/twists along the way, but the book doesn't surprise you often. Though you're always on the edge of your seat and anticipating something bad to happen.

I think this is a very important book for people to read because reading it makes us understand what is vital for a democratic society to have to function. Overall, this is a really good read and I think it will change the way you look at the world.
